Tech Feature: Alaris Electric Outboard
The power of the Future — Today!
Tohatsu Corporation, the oldest Japanese outboard engine manufacturer with a legacy spanning more than a century, recently introduced its line of electric outboard motors: the ALARIS™. Currently available in a remote model with a tiller version available July 2025, the MEP6.0 is a 6kW electric outboard with propulsion torque comparable to a 9.9 hp gasoline engine.
The ALARIS™ MEP6.0 is approved for a 48v-60v system with a 150A constant rate of discharge and is compatible with Lithium Ion, Lithium Iron Phosphate, AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat), and Lead Acid batteries.
Each ALARIS™ comes with a 3” display screen with touch controls and includes incorporated electric-hydraulic power tilt, a built-in GPS, and passive cooling with an underwater motor and heat sink.
The MEP6.0 comes with a 2-year limited warranty for pleasure use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use.
