The all-new Formula 360 Crossover Bowrider takes dayboating to the next level.
The leaps and bounds taken by manufacturers in crafting day venture vehicles is fast, however this newest release from Formula shows how tactful care and innovative design can make all the difference. From the stepped FAS3Tech hull to the stylish hardtop with glass sunroof, the all-new Formula 360 Crossover Bowrider heralds the arrival of a new generation of open-bow dayboats.
True to its Formula CBR lineage, the 360 boasts an open bow with a single-level, flush cockpit and stand-up cabin, with a generous 11-foot, 3-inch beam and measuring 36 feet in length. “No other Bowrider in this size offers as many amenities,” says Scott Porter, President of Formula Boats. "To continue to offer more luxury amenities on each new Formula, we absolutely wanted to offer our stepped hull and Engineered Structural Grid design for the best balance possible.”
Speaking even closer to design, Formula Designer Michael David Young, a new creative force in luxury boating architecture, notes that when it comes to Formula boats, performance begins with the hull — from how beamy it is to how deep it pushes into the water. “We pride ourselves in delivering very accommodating cabins and cockpits without adding extra height and weight to the boat, which ultimately just plows the water and slows things down. Striking the balance is a challenge, but that's where the genius of the Crossover Bowrider comes in.”
Excellent control is assured with Mercury® DTS or Ilmor One-Touch PRO® joystick control, and digital switching with chartplotter control. Raymarine® Axiom®+ 12- or 16-inch dual chartplotters assure confident command at the liquid black dash. Introduced with twin stern-drive – not to mention twin and triple outboard power available in the fall – this perfectly balanced combination will take the experience farther than ever before.
The 360’s Crossover SmartZone™ concept creates separate areas for a variety of activities, while encouraging connections among guests. The triple helm features sit/stand/lean command seating at the operator-friendly dash with a layout that maximizes space, comfort and style. The molded portside boarding door makes for ease of passenger flow on and off the boat.
“Formula is always interacting with our clients and receiving great ideas for future development,” says Porter, noting that as a result the 360 CBR has many other new features throughout that pertain to what boaters truly want, which often includes how to entertain while cruising. Luckily entertainment amenities abound, starting with a molded cockpit wet bar to port with a Corian countertop with integrated sink, pull-out stainless steel-front refrigerator, and trash container. There is also a roomy portside lounge, outdoor kitchen, aft companion seat, and wraparound seating aft, as well as options to include a 120V integrated cockpit grill and a 24-inch LED/LCD Smart HDTV. A rear-facing, convertible aft sun lounge with multi-position backrests cleverly converts to an extended layout, perfect for overseeing on-water activities at anchor.
The available Extended Water Sport swim platform, available for sterndrive engine packages with a motorized under-mount swim seat, gives plenty of space to lounge, play, and interact. Storage is at every turn for all your gear—under seats, in lockers, and deep storage in the floor. All amenities are outfitted with Formula’s trademark precision top stitching and stylish color accents and piping, as well as charging ports and ergonomically placed beverage holders throughout for convenience.
“The bar is set high for what customers have come to expect, and I think as a designer that is very exciting,” Young states. “Looking at the evolution of the American day boat in even the past 30 years, we have gone from simple or even crude boats, to incredibly sophisticated crafts, sometimes even works of art. The sky is the limit and we will be continuing to push for elegance, trustworthy quality, straightforward performance that exceeds expectations, and hopefully... art!”
