Content creator Camilla Pavan lists her favorite gear to keep on deck.
Content creator Camilla Pavan has loved experiencing life on the water and documenting it for an audience since a young age, growing up with a family-owned scuba diving shop and dive boat. “I always had an action camera on me whenever I was out on the boat growing up.” Now YouTube montages of fun outings have transformed into a creative career outlet on popular social media platforms, with Pavan’s boating outings and adventures taking center screen.
Pavan and her partner Jake like to take their 2005 27-foot Contender boat as often as they can, as she’s come to thoroughly enjoy the freedom of boating to explore further than just nearby destinations. “I always saw boating as something fun to do on the weekends rather than to end up at a destination. Recently, we’ve been using the boat to go on day trips to the Bahamas and it’s a blast,” she says. For any outing, whether it’s to Abaco for the week or up the northern coast to a friend’s wedding, there are several staples Pavan likes, even needs, to keep on board.

Stream2Sea is Pavan’s favorite sunscreen ever. The company creates performance-based, scientifically backed bodycare products for active adventurers, meaning their products have been proven safe for freshwater and saltwater fish, as well as coral life. Stream2Sea is veteran-operated and women-owned by Autumn Blum, a cosmetic chemist, entrepreneur, and renowned scuba diver.

For both comfort and durability during boat trips, Pavan’s go-to is the West Marine Teardrop Bean Bag chair. Perfect for boat decks, docks, fire pits, and beyond! With an on-the-go handle and tie-down straps, and only weighing about 6 lbs, it’s light enough to move around on the boat easily but sturdy enough to stay put in windy conditions.

These statement sunglasses named The Blondes by Bisous are Pavan’s favorite sunglasses for going out, on or off the boat. The Blondes are polarized sunglasses that are crafted with premium Italian acetate and beach wood blonde, with UV protection and scratch resistant coating. Classic, polished, and timeless, this brand is local to Ft Lauderdale and has glasses available online and at select retailers for purchase.

On any day on the boat, a cooler is more than necessary to keep things running smoothly. This YETI Tundra 45 offers large capacity (up to 26 cans) and long ice retention. From water bottles and ready-made meals to fishing needs, this rugged 45-quart cooler is built for extreme performance no matter the conditions.

When on the water it’s important to keep up with your body’s needs, including protection from the elements. Pavan uses fishing apparel brand Grundéns for her footwear and coveralls, trusting a brand that has been developing high-quality rainware and protective clothing for generations. “I always have the foul-weather gear on the boat with me,” she says and loves using her deck boots constantly, made with razor siping to improve grip on wet surfaces.
